This system of distribution lines, which began operating in August 2013, serves many consumers throughout the Naot Hovav Industrial Council. The distribution lines are optimally deployed, connecting all of the Council’s consumers to natural gas.
The grid also spreads north and supplies natural gas to the city of Beersheba and to its consumers, while in its southern part,
the grid conducts gas to the thermo-solar power plant compound in the Eshalim area. The grid currently covers a length of 56 kilometers and will be expanding in the future.
The Eshalim Line, which serves the thermo-solar power plants in the Kibbutz Eshalim region, was built completely of steel. This posed a great many challenges to the planning and construction teams during their work. Many different obstacles in the grid’s path, such as valleys, excavation sites and forested areas, passing alongside and underneath neighboring infrastructure, as well as topographical differences and many more obstacles had a different meaning following the use of steel pipes.
